Education

Our local schools are part of the Wayne County Public School System. Carver Elementary School and Mount Olive Middle are both located within our town limits. The two schools serve K-4 and 6-8 grades, respectively. Our high school students attend 3-A Southern Wayne High School (Go Saints!) four miles to the north, in Dudley.

We also have Duplin County public schools in close proximity to Mount Olive. North Duplin Elementary and 1-A North Duplin Junior-Senior High (Home of the Rebels!) are located in Calypso, four miles to the south of Mount Olive.

In addition, Mount Olive College hails Mount Olive as home. Approximately 1,000 students attend school at the four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Free Will Baptist Association of North Carolina. The college also has campuses in Wilmington, New Bern, Jacksonville, Research Triangle Park, Washington and Goldsboro.
