Welcome to Elk Rapids!
On behalf of the Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, I'd like to welcome you to our unique
section of northern Michigan. With miles of shoreline and hiking trails in and around Elk Rapids,
it's the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts. Local wineries and restaurants will please almost
any food lover. Art galleries, specialty shops, and event venues cater to art connoisseurs.
With so many things to see and do in Elk Rapids, Alden, Torch River, and the surrounding
area, the Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce prints the annual visitor's guide to help you
navigate our region and make the most of your time here with us. Inside you'll find information
about our local natural areas, wineries, water sports, venues, and rainy-day activities.
There's also our calendar of chamber events, hosted every year to showcase the best of what
the Elk Rapids area has to offer. Some of our most popular events include:
- Wednesday Evenings on River Street (June August)
- Friday Farmers Market at the Chamber of Commerce building (June October)
- Arts & Crafts Show (three times each summer check the calendar for exact dates)
Whether you're looking for beaches in the summer, snow shoeing in the winter,
or the best small-town festival in northern Michigan, the Elk Rapids area has it all.
Welcome to our little piece of paradise!
Sincerely,
Tom Kern
